Take part in National Tree Day this Sunday

national-treeplanting-day.jpgYarra residents are encouraged to help in planting 3500 seedlings at Burnley Park this Sunday (31 July).

As part of National Tree Day, Council and the Merri Creek Management Committee are hosting a planting site along the eastern side of Burnley Park (Swan Street, Burnley. Melways ref: 2H, H10).

What's happening at Evolve?
New Headquarters at Victoria Park

 evolve_typo_station.png Evolve is relocating its headquarters to the Social Club Building at Victoria Park, under the auspices of the Collingwood Football Club Foundation. They will join a number of other not for profit organisations, such as the Collingwood Toy Library.

Also on August 6-7 is the Typo Station Winter Work Party
They are keen to get as many supporters as possible for this fun weekend, which will help immensly with what needs to get done over winter.

Joel Beasant -  "Mill Boys"

The Mill Boys is a 12 scene, 2-hour theatre production and will be performed to an estimated audience of 1000 people over a 10 performances in the Collingwood Underground Theatre which has formed from the reconditioned carpark underneath the Collingwood Housing Estate on Hoddle Street.  It is a story about the desire to make something of one’s life while trying not to lose hope as the world seems to close in.
The Club has purchased a number of tickets, to be distributed to deserving residents through the St Vincent de Paul Shop in Collingwood.

This week July 28 - Lunch - Maria Attard Dickson 

Maria‘s service to a range of social welfare organisations saw her awarded a Medal (OAM) of the Order of Australia.
