The Rotary Club of Collingwood has continuously supported local community projects within the City of Yarra over the past 60 years. We believe in inspiring and empowering local people to strengthen our community and help those in need.

Swing into spring

Swing into Spring is a community music fundraiser extravaganza. Bring along your friends and family and join our Rotary Club in celebrating Spring with an afternoon of local food and music. Several Australian acts will perform along students from Collingwood College, including Dallas Woods, Australian Indigenous rapper, lyricist, recording artist and MC; and Terra Rogue, a producer, vocalist and instrumentalist based in Melbourne. This event is led by students from Collingwood College and is a Collingwood Rotary supported event. All funds raised will be donated to Collingwood College. Friday 18th November 3pm – 6pm at Collingwood College.

 

sizzle a sausage for democracy

Who doesn’t like a democracy sausage, and for all the voters who are exercising their democratic rights on Victorian State Election Day, we’ll be there to serve them. Collingwood College and The Rotary Club of Collingwood will be running a Democracy BBQ on the day as fundraiser for projects such as the Collingwood College Youth Music Project and Interact Food Aid Program. Saturday 26th November 8am - 3pm at Collingwood College.

Volunteers are most welcome. As is a chat with any of our members.

 

Ms 24 hour mega swim

In February 2023, we cook up a BBQ storm with the Rotary Club of Fitzroy at the Fitzroy Swimming Pool to feed our hungry swimmers as they brave it out over 24 hours and raise money for people with MS.

HOMELESS WORLD CUP

Partnering with Happy Football Cambodia Australia, the Rotary Club of Collingwood sponsor orphan and disadvantaged Cambodian children be engaged in organised sport and play in the Homeless World Cup. An annual Fair Play BBQ fundraises for this worthwhile cause.

VICTORIA ST. LUNAR FESTIVAL

The Rotary Club of Collingwood celebrates our local cultural diversity and identity each year an the Victoria Street Lunar Festival. Rich traditions and practices are threaded throughout the weekend manifesting in delicious Asian cuisine, rides and games, and traditional performances for young and old. You'll see a lion dancing, dragons and bring in the New Year with festive firecrackers and fireworks at night.

YARRA JETS FOOTBALL CLUB

Since 2015, the Rotary Club of Collingwood has raised more than $40,000 is support of the Yarra Jets Football Club. Funds raised have sponsored sporting goods and memberships for citizens in the City of Yarra and nearby municipalities to gain access to organised team sport.

Interact Club of Collingwood College

The Interact Club of Collingwood College is being chartered in 2023. We are high school students at Collingwood College from year 8 to year 11 and are sponsored by the Rotary Club of Collingwood. This year we hope to embark upon projects to assist with Food Aid and local animal shelters. We have meetings each week at lunch time to discuss important social issues.
